Meet The Team

We asked Neil Lucey, our New Business Manager, a few questions to get to know him better.

1. What was your career background before joining BDM?

Prior to joining BDM, I had a career spanning nearly 20 years in Sales and Marketing with a large part of it spent in the Telecoms and Technology sector for both resellers and channel partners. I was lucky enough to land a role working on the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games supplying official products to the LOCOG and its 42 official sponsors.

2. Tell us about your journey in BDM Talk

I joined in June 2023 as the New Business Manager and shortly after I took on an element of our marketing strategy and activity. Part of that strategy was to adopt new ways of marketing the business which led to us appointing a Digital Marketing Executive who works closely alongside myself and the Senior Leadership Team.

3 How has BDM Talk changed during your time here?

The company and what we do… not so much, the guys here do a great job and we’re great at what we do. How we go about showcasing BDM definitely has. Sharing our knowledge and skillset as an industry expert to our network of followers and beyond has been a key change.

4. What sets BDM Talk apart from its competitors?

This one is easy, the people. Our team here are amazing.

5.What is the biggest challenge that comes with your role?

Bringing in new business in any organisation is hard, it’s no different here. Fortunately, we have a team here that all bought into the strategy and things always feel a little easier when you work as a collective.

6. The contact centre is based in Burgess Hill, tell me something interesting/ you like about this location.

Burgess Hill was the first place I lived when I moved down from the north over 20 years ago so I have many fond memories of my early life as a ‘southerner’ before moving down to the sea. In my younger years, I did represent the local football team a couple of times at semi-pro level.

7. What are your interests outside of BDM Talk and the automotive contact centre world?

My 2 boys tend to fill my spare time away from work, so there’s always a club to attend or a party most weekends, but if I do get time to myself, I enjoy sea swimming, golf and play in a pool league for my local pub. We love to spend a lot of time down the beach through spring and summer, we’re so fortunate to have this on our doorstep and don’t take it for granted.
